What Can I Do to Save Cats and Dogs in Indianapolis?
Spay/neuter your cat or dog. It goes without saying; prevention is the key to saving cats and dogs in Indianapolis. Cats and dogs can be spayed/neutered at 4 months of age. Every litter born makes overpopulation worse, and means more cats and dogs will be killed in Indianapolis shelters.
To schedule a spay/neuter appointment for your dog or cat, call FACE at (317)638-3223 Monday-Thursday from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Tell your friends, neighbors and coworkers to spay/neuter their cats and dogs. Send a strong message, and educate those you know about spay/neuter.
See Why Spay or Neuter and Common Myths regarding spay/neuter.
Adopt your next cat or dog. Thousands of cats and dogs are killed only because there are not enough homes for all the cats and dogs out there. Every time a dog or cat is purchased from a breeder or pet store, demand is created for more. Indianapolis shelters are filled with great cats and dogs - save a life and adopt one of them!
Vaccinate early. Puppies and kittens need vaccines within a week of eating food on their own or other separation from their mother. We strongly recommend 3 rounds of vaccines to help build a strong immune system. Without vaccines, puppies and kittens are susceptible to life-threatening diseases like Parvovirus and Distemper.
Make your donations count. You can donate funds directly to pay for spay/neuter and vaccines for those who cannot afford even our low prices. Donate to our Neighborhood cat and dog programs to pay for spay/neuter and vaccines of outdoor, stray cats and dogs. FACE is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All donations are appreciated and tax-deductible. Find out more about making a contribution.
